Your cell phone rings, you look at your caller Id and it’s your child. You’re afraid to answer your phone. Will she be happy, will she be sad, or is she freaking out? You answer the phone holding your breath…
I am a mother of a child with Borderline Personality Disorder. Like you I have searched the web, read all the books, talked with friends and family members and still feel like I have no one to talk to, no one who understands. There are so many sites out there for people with BPD, but who is there for us, the parents?
I am just a mom; I am not a doctor or a therapist. I am here to share information that I have researched or found online. I can share with you my experience of living with a child with BPD, surviving high school years, and the struggles and accomplishment of helping her through college. I can share my stories on how I helped the other siblings in the house handle situations that came up with their sister having BPD. In return you can share your experiences too so that we can help each other. It does not matter if you are a parent of a son or a daughter, 8 years old or 48 years old. We will always be their parents and they will always be our children. I hope you find this site helpful. Please remember to be kind on this site. I ask that before you post anything on the blog, you read and respect the rules for everyone’s safety. |
